Are columns listed below cumulative sums over data period? ricoverati_con_sintomi - Hospitalised patients with symptoms
terapia_intensiva - Intensive Care
dimessi_guariti - Recovered

Does "dimessi_guariti" reporesent all recovered both in hospitals and in home isolation? How do you define recovered? Symptoms gone or you confirm each recovery with test for Covid-19 Regards, Jacek Blocki

Hi @jb1123, as regards Lombardia region, the number of "dimessi_guariti" in this repository represents only the recovered from hospitals. You can check this by comparing the number reported in the region data of this repository (15147) with the data published by Lombardia region that you can find at this link https://www.bsnews.it/2020/04/08/coronavirus-dati-8-aprile-meno-contagi-ma-brescia-come-bergamo/?refresh_ce. Probably, the same holds also for the other Italian regions, and this would explain the fact that, in the JHU map, Italian recovered are much lower than the ones of Spain and those of Germany. Regards

dati-regioni/dpc-covid19-ita-regioni.csv

date region_name total_hospitalized discharged_healed new_positives 891 2020-04-06 17:00:00 Lombardia 13257 13863 1079 912 2020-04-07 17:00:00 Lombardia 13138 14498 791 933 2020-04-08 17:00:00 Lombardia 12976 15147 1089

Does total_hospitalized represent current patients count in hospitals or cumulative sum? Total hospitalized 7->8 dropped by 162, while discharged_healed grew by 649. Doe it mean 487 out of 1089 new positives were hospitalized?

If what you're saying it's true, then they shouldn't call the total number Recovered (guariti).

There was another discussion on here and a link where eventually they've mentioned the "dimessi_guariti" should be considered as Guariti (recovered) total. Therefore it might be confusing but I prefer to stick with what they say (Protezione civile), if they say Guariti is the total, I don't disagree or agree with it and I do not take any position, I prefer not express my own suppositions on the meaning itself as it could be confusing for the general public to see different the public data compared to what we show to them with our own apps.
