Move scripts/code to github for collaborative development? #11

I have a few suggestions for how to improve the scripts, which I'll send as a separate issue, but on the high level it's hard to send a PR to improve the code if the scripts are part of a separate zip that's downloaded. Maybe we could make the scripts directory part of the repo. If this makes sense I'll send a PR.
