@wombatz666 thanks for your report, however to add a proper entry for your printer we will need the output for lpinfo.
If you could temporally connect your printer via usb
and provide output of this command sudo lpinfo --include-schemes usb -l -v
it would be much appreciated.
Gives...
sudo lpinfo --include-schemes usb -l -v Device: uri = usb://Brother/DCP-L2550DW%20series?serial=U64966L9N525912 class = direct info = Brother DCP-L2550DW series make-and-model = Brother DCP-L2550DW series device-id = MFG:Brother;CMD:PJL,PCL,PCLXL,URF;MDL:DCP-L2550DW series;CLS:PRINTER;CID:Brother Laser Type1;URF:W8,CP1,IS4-1,MT1-3-4-5-8,OB10,PQ3-4-5,RS300-600-1200,V1.4,DM1; location =
I don't use the printer via USB so the lpinfo did not produce anything.
I have been using the Brother supplied script that pulls in rpm's up thru Fedora 32 without trouble.
I read a report in the Fedora Users mailing list that "F33 just pretends to print" for some other Brother printer so I tried to setup printing for a VirtualBox install of F33 (using Xfce4) and I found the same issue. That users list thread included the report that this solution works. I tried it and sure enough, all good, both printing and scanning work great for the VirtualBox Fedora 33 install.
The printer is running on the network (instead of USB) so that my wife can use it when my machines are sleeping.
Info on the printer from the web interface:
