Thought I would let you know of success with my MFC-L2690DW. Here is the requested output:
sudo lpinfo --include-schemes usb -l -v
Device: uri = usb://Brother/MFC-L2690DW?serial=U65529H1N505493
class = direct
info = Brother MFC-L2690DW
make-and-model = Brother MFC-L2690DW
device-id = MFG:Brother;CMD:PJL,HBP,URF;MDL:MFC-L2690DW;CLS:PRINTER;CID:Brother Laser Type1;URF:W8,CP1,IS4-1,MT1-3-4-5-8,OB10,PQ3-4-5,RS300-600-1200,V1.4,DM1;
location = hell
Now if only I had the time or the patience to get it to fully work with cups over USB. It has wifi of course, but I despise wifi and want no other2.4 ghz devices... If I could do away with all wifi I would. Unfortunately thats not possible, but I suppose I will get things working better down the line.
