RFC 8118 "The application/pdf Media Type" is outdated.

This RFC was last updated in 2017, prior to the 2020 ISO publications for many PDF 2.0 specifications including ISO 32000-2:2020, ISO 15930-9:2020 (PDF/X-6), ISO 19005-4:2020 (PDF/A) and multiple ISO Technical Specification (TS) documents for PDF 2.0 extensions and clarifications.

The PDF TWG has agreed to take on this task.
