Define & implement the EdgeCluster POC

• [ ] Run edge cluster and show deployment running when

  • connection with the cloud down, and
  • edge cluster node fails

• [ ] EdgeCluster custom resource

  • allows specifying cluster by compute resource
  • allows user to specify specific nodes

• [ ] Dual role edge node

  • workload node
  • EdgeCluster node
  • master (talk to the cloud)
  • slave (anonymous to the cloud control plane)

• [x] Workload assignment

  • create deployment and assign it to run in the user-defined scope (node, cluster or clusters)

• [ ] Self-managing EdgeCluster

  • marked nodes to group into a cluster
  • select master
  • transition from workload node mode to EdgeCluster node mode
  • master failure
  • with HA
  • without HA
