Joomla 4.1.0. Installation via webinstaller. "No manifest found" #41

Joomla 4.1.0
Extensions > Install > Select Webinstaller > Search for HCaptcha and try to install the plugin.

=> Installation stops with message "No manifest file found".

Tested also on Joomla 4.1.1-rc2-dev.

Sorry that I don't have time for further investigations.

Thank you for reporting an issue with hCaptcha.

What's the operating system of your server? Linux? or Windows? Which PHP version do you have?

There are 2 hCaptcha versions available:

hCaptcha 1.4.2 for Joomla 4.1
hCaptcha 1.4.2 for Joomla 3.9 + 3.10 Maybe the webinstaller tries to install the 3.9/3.10 version...

@ReLater Could you please respond with some more info? What's the operating system of your server? Linux? or Windows? Which PHP version do you have? Which version you tried to install?

PHP version: Last test of today 8.1. Earlier PHP 7.4 and 8.0.
I tried to install the version that the webinstaller provides

The web installer cannot distinguish between versions.

It just relies on the direct download url that one provides in JED and on the compatibility settings.

I don't know if it's possible to provide 2 different downloads on JED.

Thank you for your fast response and feedback! Ok, so the web installer probably installed the J3 version. I will have to make a new release with other version number, just like I did for another extension recently: https://github.com/pe7er/mod_db8sitelastmodified
