I get no exp on damage / killing my teammates. smrpg_ffa is set to 1.

Are you testing with bots or actual players? There are extra convars to disable getting experience from bots or afk players etc.

Unless AFK is not moving for 3 seconds so I get a good headshot, I am certain it's not related to AFK.

The players are human.
