Implement "Help" menu option #28

Closed jasnow closed 11 years ago

jasnow commented 11 years ago

Appears that when you click on the Gear icon and then "About", you do not get information about the app.

Please save the current table output ("#/orders") in some other option.

pstoica commented 11 years ago

The about/home pages haven't been made yet.

jasnow commented 11 years ago

Yes, that is why I marked it as an enhancement and not a bug.

ddeseta commented 11 years ago

Isn't this the same as issue #7? I'm confused because I have already assigned myself to writing these assets.

jasnow commented 11 years ago

They is not mention of "About" in #7

ddeseta commented 11 years ago

About Page content has been uploaded to the wiki. Patric, I don't anticipate any images to appear on this page.

jasnow commented 11 years ago

Here is the link: https://github.com/atlrug-rhok/rhok-rails/wiki/ABOUT-PAGE

jasnow commented 11 years ago

Is the home and "About" page the same thing?

ddeseta commented 11 years ago

The About Page is actually the Help page. Let's rename this enhancement the Help page as that is what is designed to do. There is no reason to have an about page.

jasnow commented 11 years ago

Help or "HOW-TO"

ddeseta commented 11 years ago

@jasnow I think Help works best. It's short and represents both errors as well as how to content.

jasnow commented 11 years ago

ok

ddeseta commented 11 years ago

@jasnow and @pstoica Help page has been approved by Patrick Chochette. I guess now we just need to build out the page. I will have a wire for that this weekend.

jasnow commented 11 years ago

Super

ddeseta commented 11 years ago

An example of what the help page will look like for mobile web is at this simulation address:

jasnow commented 11 years ago

Add above address to bottom of Sidebar on wiki pages.

jasnow commented 11 years ago

Moved to milestone 2.2 since 2.1 has passed.

jasnow commented 11 years ago

@ddeseta I compared Gear/Help page with https://github.com/atlrug-rhok/medlink/wiki/HELP-Page-Content and they are similar but not the same. Which one is right? Suggest removing wiki page if code is right. Did I miss anything? If not, please close this issue. Thanks.

ddeseta commented 11 years ago

@jsnow The simulation has the most current version of the help text, however, we might want to add information about browser support to the help section once we as a team have decided which browsers on both desktop and mobile are going to be supported for the initial launch.

@ddeseta - Then can we delete the Help wiki page and have only TWO versions. Your "might want" comment turns into another issue with a future milestone.

ddeseta commented 11 years ago

@jasnow @choquette33 What mobile and desktop browsers do we support?

Patrick - What is your answer to: What mobile and desktop browsers do we support?

Open Question: We have 3 versions of HELP text: simulation, wiki, and app. Do we need 3 versions?

jasnow commented 11 years ago
  1. Compared simulation and app (ok)
  2. Compared simulation and wiki (few minor diffs/ok)
  3. Help menu option works under Gear icon.
