A project to make it easier for Peace Corps Volunteers to order their medical supplies from a local Peace Corps Office. Volunteers can order by sms or webform. PC Staff interact with the orders in a simple to use dashboard.
NOT for ALL volunteers. Only those on Malaria Prophylaxis.
Logic: If VOL ID # + Malaria Medication (MALMD) order or filled > 80 days = Automated Message
Text content:
“Hello, it has been 80 days since your last Malaria Prophylaxis order; please place your order before the 1st of the month.”
• If 80 days pass with no Malaria medicine order placed or received = text reminder to order (example of text below)
• If in two weeks hasn’t ordered = Volunteer is flagged in PC Medlink to receive follow-up phone call from Health Unit
• Have any Malaria transaction from Volunteer or Health Unit override automatic messaging.
• If, need to choose one or the other- Date Malaria is filled is when the clock starts. Not date when volunteer orders.
36 countries have volunteers on Malaria Medicine. 5, only a percentage of volunteers are on medicine. Is there a way to set up Malaria flagging only for the 31 countries that every volunteer is on malaria prophylaxis?
• OR Volunteer is entered into Malarial count when they place or receive first order of Malaria Prophylaxis.
Reason: Malaria is a very serious illness- The Health of the Volunteer report indicate that PC Volunteers experienced 202 cases of Malaria in 2013. By having Volunteers order their medicine, and receiving a reminder to do so- Creates accountability. Rather than the med unit pushing medicine to volunteers. If they do not order the Health Unit is made aware and can ask the appropriate questions- perhaps the volunteer is having negative side effects and would be more likely to take a different Malaria prophylaxis.
