support for 'nidaqmx base'?

nidaqmx is not available for mac os x.  only a subset, 'nidaqmx base' is 
available.  are there any plans to provide support for 'nidaqmx base'?

I'm also interested in this.  I haven't dug through the API entirely, but I 
think basic functionality would be relatively easy, by just changing function 
names to use the DAQmx Base names rather than the full DAQmx versions?

I might give this a try shortly on a Linux machine.

Is pylibnidaqmx not going to work for me on Linux with NI-DAQmx Base either? 
NI-DAQmx does not support recent Linux distros...
