fix path too long #350

Hi Carlos,

I believe I have fixed the path too long issue by using AlphaFS - https://alphafs.alphaleonis.com/

I've also managed to optimize two methods (I think, hopefully you can test this before merging also).

I've left some of your code commented so you can see what methods I've changed and quickly benchmark/test but happy to remove that and do the pull request again.

This will be my first c# commit so hopefully doesn't break anything.
