Solo flute 2 has staccato samples, but they're missing for the lowest octave of the range. I've been wanting for a while to find some way to fill in those missing samples. I finally figured out a way to create realistic sounding staccatos based on the sustain samples. I do it by combining three pieces: 1) the beginning of the sample, 2) a single pulse of instrument's natural vibrato, and 3) the end of the sample. The result is a realistic staccato that doesn't sound out of place when played next to the actual staccato samples. I can create round robins by using different vibrato pulses for the middle part.
Armed with a set of staccatos covering the whole range of the instrument, I layered them with the sustain samples to create marcato notes
I'm hopeful I can use the same method to create staccato and marcato articulations for the other solo flutes.
