In our pairing session, we arrived at the following domain model for Meditations. In order to get to MVP we need some interim data so the meditation flow can be tested.

Meditation 1: Name: Mind and Breath Type: Internal Description: “Mind and Breath” is where meditation begins. Despite being the simple in concept, it the the most difficult of the meditations presented here. Reason for this is it squares you against your ego. This is a good meditation to test your mastery of self. Task to meditate regular intervals regularly. Directions: sit or lay down comfortably. Aim to be in this position for the duration of the meditation. Once meditation is started, best practice is to close your eyes, trust that the timer will bring you back. Inhale for 4 seconds, hold for 2 seconds, and exhale for four seconds. In 5 minutes you will take 30 inhalations and exhalations. If mind day dreams, or revisits the past or imagines the future, bring it back to focusing on the breath. Motivational Text:

Meditation 2: Name: Thought Audit Type: Internal Description: “Though Audit” is an original creation by the developers of the app, and is periodically used at the Veteran’s Meditation Group. This meditation allows an insight into what thoughts occupy our conscious mind, and are effecting our outlook, perception and actions.. Directions: have a pen and notepad with a blank sheet of paper in front of you. Sit in a comfortable meditation pose. Start the meditation timer. As thoughts come, make a shorthand note about them. One or two words are often enough. Do this throughout the thought audit meditation (writing down the thought, and coming back to the meditation). At the end of the meditation take some time to enumerate and write out the thoughts in full sentences. This process literally lets you know what energy is being spent on and where your focus is.

Meditation 3: Gratitude Name: Gratitude Type: External Description: “Gratitude” is a guided meditation that brings the focus to what we are grateful for. Directions: hydrate, sit comfortably. Once you start the meditation timer, the guidance will begin. You will go through a relaxation technique, be given a change to recall gratitude experiences, and be brought back to your original state.

Meditation 4: Prepare for the day Name: Prepare for the day Type: External Description: “Prepare for the day” is a guided meditation that brings the focus to visualizing the upcoming events. Directions: hydrate, sit comfortably. Once you start the meditation timer, the guidance will begin. You will go through a relaxation technique, be given a chance to formulate the vision of upcoming experiences, feel your mind and body ready for them, and be brought back to your original state.
