Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. open OML
2. Play any movie
3. Play from beginning

Please answer the following questions (if they apply):

What is the expected output? What do you see instead? I expect to see the
start of the movie. A popup error message on the MCX that says:

Unhandled Exception: System.ServiceModel.EndpointNotFoundException: Could
not connect to net.tcp://localhost:8321/OMLTS. The connection attempt
lasted for a time span of 00:00:02.0260300. TCP error code 10061: No
connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it
127.0.0.1:8321.  ---> System.Net.Sockets.SocketException: No connection
could be made because the target machine actively refused it 127.0.0.1:8321
   at System.Net.Sockets.Socket.DoConnect(EndPoint endPointSnapshot,
SocketAddress socketAddress)
   at System.Net.Sockets.Socket.Connect(EndPoint remoteEP)
   at System.ServiceModel.Channels.SocketConnectionInitiator.Connect(Uri
uri, TimeSpan timeout)
--- End of inner exception stack trace ---

What is the OML Version? x86 or x64? 0.21b Daily Build - (r851) 11/21/2008
(x64)

How did you add the movie? (MyMovies, DVDProfiler, DVRMS, MovieCollectorz,
DVD/Video Scanner) MyMovies

Did you import from within the VMC UI, command line or DB Editor? DB Editor

What kind of movie type do you have problems with? (DVD, Blu-ray, AVI, ISO,
etc, Extender, HD-DVD) ripped dvd (vob file) on an extender

How do you play movies, extender or VMC directly? Both. works like a charm
in VMC

Please provide any additional information below.

I'll attach the ehExtHost-debug file

I had a similar problem but was able to work around it by adding firewall
exceptions
for the port that the transcoding service uses as well as the OMLServiceEngine
service exe. I'm not sure if both are need but that seems to have gotten rid of
those errors in my logs.

I have also experienced this error and tried to address by opening up the port
(UDP
and TCP) but I have been unable to get this to work still. I have not however
added
OMLServiceEngine service as an exception.

I am actively working on this issue. This is related to the error during
install
issue. Once that has been fixed this should work fine. There are a few other
transcoder issues but it should be back and working shortly (ready sometime in
Jan.)

I ran into the same issue. To work around I opened port 8321(TCP) in windows
firewall. The other thing I needed to do was set the two OML services to start
automatically. Rebooted my machine, reconnected with my extender, and
everything
works great.

What 2 OML Services need to be started at start up?

I did a little testing last night and it doesn't appear as though opening TCP
Port
8321 in my firewall had any affect. Though, manually starting the services
(OMLEngineService & OMLFWService) and then attempting to watch a movie via my
extender resolved the error. However, I was not able to get any movie to play.
 My
guess is this error is OML/MCE trying to start one, or both, of these services
and
being denied access, but that's just a guess at this point...I'm not seeing
anything
in my firewall or event logs relating to this so I probably need to reconfigure
my
audit settings...If I find a solution that works without leaving my system wide
open
and allows the extender to start these service on its own I'll post it, but for
now I
got nothing...

I still see this issue with 0.3b installed. Is this still being worked on.
This is a
killer for my setup. If you need info from me, let me know. I'm also curious
about
a clear work-around....

I had this issue in ver 0.3b. I am able to solve this today by starting the two
above mentioned services manually in vista's control panel. Thanks for the tip!

BTW, I have tried it with the firewall on and off. IN both situations the movie
gets
transcoded and plays on the extender.

Currently this DVD is ripped in seperate VOBs (the old fashioned way) and
resides in
the D drive (local) of the PC.

My goal is to have the DVD play from a network drive.
