Emote slots should have a relatively high limit that we will decide on when needed, since it would make it easier for everyone if they could just keep all their emotes on our platform since we'll have the best features, instead of having to use multiple which gets rough when you have a lot of emotes.
When you hit the limit you should have an option to request more slots, to prevent a cost barrier for people who just want more ways to express themselves, or they can pay for more slots to avoid the hassle. This should come with a tool to prune emotes that don't get used, so people can make sure they don't have wasted slots before sending a request.
Extra emote slots should only be granted in certain circumstances though because we will need some form of revenue, and our base limit will be relatively high anyways. Such circumstances could be things like metrics (more chatters = greater variety of emotes that get used), whether people just are wasting slots on duplicates/not spending the time to curate a set of emotes that people will actually use and that help self expression. Like the only reason we should be giving people extra slots like that is if they can't afford it and it's a situation like carter's chat where whenever I remove an emote to add a new one, people miss using the old emote. Usually they get over it but doing that does limit self-expression, which is what I want to prevent against.
Tbh the extra slots thing should just be a link in small text in the prompt for buying extra emote slots, and should be done through some sort of application form, to not give the impression that anyone can just be like "yo can I have some more emote slots pls ty".
