The Integration of Open Education Resources into your Library

Dialogue around Open Education Resources (OER) has been on the rise over the last few years and increasingly so from within the academic library community. Academic libraries are a natural fit to be leading in this space on campus, and this forum will directly address ways in which you and your library can enhance and encourage the development and usage of OERs on your campus. This forum will aim to address many questions including the financial implications of and cost models for OER, how libraries can be the creators of OER and how OERs are being perceived by faculty and students.

Speakers include: C. Quill West, Open Education Project Manager, Pierce College District Kristi Jensen, Program Development Lead for the eLearning Support Initiative University of Minnesota Libraries Shan Sutton, Associate University Librarian for Research and Scholarly Communication, Oregon State University Nicole Allen, Director of Open Education, SPARC

Rachel, talk to Anne about attending

raaswol commented 9 years ago

I emailed Anne

raaswol commented 9 years ago

Anne said she can go Fri and Sat for sure. Maybe Thursday. We'll hear back about that later. We have to send her, the week before so it's as up to date as possible:

Also, we have to buy her ticket into it!

mitar commented 9 years ago

We can definitely do business cards for her.

a short list of things we want her to attend there. let's leave the rest to her choice

We can also leave to her to decide all. But you can check the program and see if there is anything really for us. But also she can do that. So maybe we could just leave to her.

Also, we have to buy her ticket into it!

Check if there is any deadline until when we can get cheaper one. Can we ask for some scholarship for even getting the ticket for free?

"We can definitely do business cards for her."

Great, lets DEF put Anne on the next business card list. It's great that we have someone in that area!

"We can also leave to her to decide all. But you can check the program and see if there is anything
really for us. But also she can do that. So maybe we could just leave to her."

Yeah, of course give her max freedom. But there are a couple I eyed out which would be very relevant to us.

And I'll look into the most cost effective way to attend.

mitar commented 9 years ago

Can you make a new ticket for next business cards order and let's make there a list and any deadlines for each?

alaconfpricing

Therefore, I think we should make Anne a member- of the Other type if possible, and register by 1/23...I will look into scholarships but so far none I can see.

mitar commented 9 years ago

So in many cases I managed to get registration fee waived by writing to them, explaining that we are volunteer run completely, mostly students, and that we have a person who would go there to help us out, and that it would be really great if they could waive us the fee or give us some discount. Also explain what PeerLibrary is, etc.

mitar commented 9 years ago

(So, could you write to them?)

raaswol commented 9 years ago

Yes, this week.
