having an odd issue with tech tree icons #9

most of htem are gone i dont know i think i elimated all of my mods except the suggjested ones alternate idea is mabey ckan wasnt truly reinstalling, simply installing a backup of what i had just deleted i dont know. i am testing as we speak downloaded from github deleted repalced games loading now ill delete this post or close it if it works fine, also i cant find any information any where but does your mod make any changes to mechjeb, i usually rely on its delta v stats in the vab i am fine if thats a feature and i just havent unlocked something yet, sorry tried to do websearchs on my own but couldnt find much

Regarding techtree icons: Honestly I'm not sure. The icons live in the LRTR/tree/icons folder and as long as the full path is correct (GameData/LRTR/tree/icons) they should be founds. If there is more than one mod adjusting the tech tree this may be causing problems. CommunityTechTree for example conflicts with LRTR.

Regarding mechjeb, LRTR does two things: It places the mechjeb parts into the techtree at LRTR/tree/parts/MechJeb2.cfg and it sets the mechjeb tech level at LRTR/support/mechjeb.cfg

I don't use mechjeb and at one point I made changes to the tech tree. It looks like it broke some of the support/mechjeb.cfg settings. I think if you just delete that file it should fix things a bit. I'll make a proper update to this stuff when I get a chance.

EDIT: I don't believe Kerbalism is causing the techtree issues but there is one bug with it. If you are using the stock communications (i.e. not using Real Antennas) the latest version of Kerbalism loses comms after a bit. You may need to go back to v 3.14 if this is a problem. https://github.com/Kerbalism/Kerbalism/releases/tag/3.14

Well i figured that one out its ksp community fixes thats doing it which is a depency of kerbalism..... i installed all files one by one on ckan relaunched the game and kerbalism was the one, however when i went back through and reversed the order, dependcys first for kerbalism icons disapeared after installing ksp community fixes

also on the mech jeb side of things turns out you add a mech jeb part to the craft those windows i am used to in the vab show right up, so thats feature not bug, that i am cool with. Whats early tech tree space programs doing with a highly advanced computer in the 1910s ey? well seems like the worst of my issues is just the icons so far not game breaking just annoying

little update for when you read this long wall of text the icons still have parts in them just to be clear, i downloaded hide empty tech nodes mod and turned on a feature, it allowed me to hide tech tree nodes that i havent discovered the parents to. So i thought that was interesting, but beyond that it restores the icons for some reason. Has to be that ive done nothing else new

Hmm... so one quick question: I was thinking the problem was with the actual icons not showing in the R&D tree (so they used a generic icon). Is the issue that some of the tech nodes don't have parts?

If so this is 'normal' in the sense that some nodes may not have stuff in them. The tech tree was taken directly from the RP-1 mod which has way more parts and even that has a few empty ones later on. My 'in game' logic is that those are technologies I need but they don't create flyable parts. I think of them as being filled with tech demos and prototypes used in later tech nodes.

Yes some nodes dont have parts, when you show the full list. However if you look around for instance first supersonic flight, kind of looks like a stealth fighter. If i configure it like before however, that icon vanishs but the parts remain you just have no icon for the node any more, but you can still research and unlock as normal
