Hi @pekingduck .

This PR is for reference only. In addition to solving issue #5, it includes changes to the design of the code and the build system. Use this PR as a recipe for your own changes.

Thank you so much for the patches and sorry for the lack of response on the issues. Actually I'd like to ask if you are willing to take over the maintenance of metadsf? The main reason is that my C++ is very rusty (haven't written any for ages) and am very unfamiliar with the codebase now... the last major change must have been 7-8 years ago!!

Hi @pekingduck .

It is a bad idea. Lately, I've been able to solve most of the problems through "issues". With the help of several participants. This is much more efficient than maintaining the project on your own. Your project uses pthread which is still not clear to me.

Your expectations that I will be able to fully support this project cannot be justified.
