i think, there is no need for an extra egg. You can upload the files by hand

I was wondering about that. Other game eggs have variations based on plugins so though this was the right way to go. If that's a the best way to do it we can close the ticket.

I have been looking at creating my own eggs, but haven't found a tutorial/how-to that makes the process click for me. It seems kind of obtuse.

Yeah, I've read that documentation multiple times, stepped through it section by section, and never ended up with a working egg. It's written for someone who already knows how it all works. :(

The other eggs where things like valheim plus extend the actual server and not a mod like this is. I don't think this is like those other additional things.
