multiple sitemap? #11

Any ideas how to support one sitemap per category? I have a sitemap with >5k items looks way too crowded. I need to split them into many categories.

How Do you provide Categories ? According to Google seo there is a protocol for that

I'm not aware of a way to output multiple sitemaps per category, nor am I aware of how search engines would handle them. If someone wants to dig into this further as well as work on the implementation, please feel to post a comment here so we can re-open the issue.
