Block background colors make some text hard to read #38

In both light and dark mode, I've noticed that setting block background colors sometimes makes text hard to read, especially for things like TODOs.

Ideally the background colors would be recolored as well to match the theme. Some existing colors work, but in general I think switching to pastel tones would be much more readable.
