🐛 [Invalid string length] Penport Exporter - Stuck on "Generating Penpot File"

My comment from the Figma community page: "Unfortunately I can't seem to export a project. Just a single page with a very reasonable size. It gets stuck on "Generating Penpot File". I left it open on my figma app, tried the browser app, result was the same - never exports anything :( "

This is a single page version of a larger file I made specifically to see if I could export the main piece of work I did on a website.

It just never exported anything in the end, just says "generating penpot file" infinitely (I once left it for 5h).

Hi there @grizhlieCodes, it seems like an issue with the size of the generated .svg. I've tried to split the contents of the page into 3 different pages and the export works (the plugin generates an .svg per page) but anyway it seems like Penpot is unable to handle this import because of the size of the file. Currently Penpot handles the import in 1 single request and sometimes it crashes or returns a timeout.

We're currently in conversations to change how the export works so hopefully we can avoid these errors in the future.

I'm keeping the issue open until we can fix this.

No error in console / network tab. Where can i get more infos for this error ?
