DamnVid does not work on Mint 11 (Julia) 64bit - No progress shown or Error message given. #237

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Copy a URL to your clipboard (I used
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qemWRToNYJY&feature=related)
2. Open up DamnVid (which will populate the queue with the URL from the
clipboard)
3. Press the Lets Go button
4. Nothing happens, no progress indications at all. The video status stays as
simply in Progress and the "Current Video" bar at the bottom of the window
remains empty. Also no error message is produced, the stop button and also the
stop in the context menu for the video (right click) does not work.

What is the expected behavior?

For Damnvid to start converting the video or throw an error or give any kind of
useful feedback as to the progress or lack of progress in converting the video.

What do you see instead?

NOTHING - no error message, no change in status, no change in the "Current
Video" box. Work or don't work I don't mind but dont leave users in this
idiotic limbo state where the program is clearly not working but obviously
hasn't been developed to degrade gracefully or even have the decency to tell
the user sorry this isnt working. VERY VERY Frustrating.

What version of DamnVid are you using?

1.6

On what operating system?

Linux Mint 11 (Julia) x64Bit

Better yet, paste the system info that you see in the Bug Report dialog, if
possible.

Please attach the file damnvid.log, found the in the following directory:
- %APPDATA%\DamnVid if you're on Windows (Copy/paste that into Explorer's
address bar)
- Home/Library/Preferences/DamnVid on Mac OS X
- ~/.damnvid on Linux
Please provide any additional information below.
