Rename Binary Profile #210

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
The current Pentoo binary profile appears as:

pentoo:pentoo/hardened/linux/amd64/binary

Steev on IRC states:

21:28 < steev+> STOP USING BINARY PACKAGE PROFILE
21:28 < steev+> ZC already fucking said it was currently broken
21:28 < steev+> pay the fuck attention
...
21:31 < steev+> it's always been considered experimental
21:31 < steev+> NEVER USE EXPERIMENTAL IN PRODUCTION

If this is true, rename the binary profile to something along the lines of
"experimental" or "bleeding_edge", so end users will be able to differentiate
this profile from stable profiles.

A channel topic message would also help greatly

The biggest problem with the binary packages are that gentoo breaks so often
they stop generating. if gentoo stopped breaking they would be fine. binpkgs
are not that well supported in gentoo but I'm trying to fix that.
