Note: if we decide to include this in the upcoming eido release looper needs to be updated accordingly.

Yes, if I understand correctly, we should definitely do this. The looper update you're talking about would be to implement the file size calculation, which you removed from here? Or would you just use the validate_inputs_looper version of the function you included here?

@vreuter I realized this was a pending thing, related to what we have been discussing.

It would be nice to get looper/eido integration complete
