Volume control missing in panel after updating to 1.4.0-0100 on Sep 7 #107

I am running Fedora 17 with kernel 3.5.3-1.fc17.x86_64. I did a system update on the morning of Sep 7, and after I rebooted, the volume control no longer shows on the panel. Sound still works on the system, but I can't adjust the volume. I have the results of "rpm -qa -last | head -50" below and my .xsession-errors file. Is there any other log file that would help? William

As a temporary fix for the login session, I can get a volume control to show if I run /usr/bin/mate-volume-control-applet &

It has been working for me since I applied a system update on Sep 21. https://github.com/mate-desktop/mate-panel/issues/41 The fix in the forum link was posted on Sep 20, so it probably is what solved the problem for me.
