Users are reporting a missing driver. Trying to determine which version of the toolkit is missing - and if we can do anything beyond just making sure the parent OS is delivering it.

Hi,

We want to change our old hardware perfSONAR server for a new ones.

We see in the web page that the recomended models are Dell R210, R310 and R610 and I think that they are discontinued.

Have your some experience with other new hardware?

Thanks in advance.

Cheers

I just got done testing out the Dell R620. I ran into one issue with the new PERC H710 and there not being drivers for it in either the net-install or the boot disk. I replaced the PERC H710 with a PERC H310. In raid mode the H310 still wouldn't work. I put the disks into non-raid mode and was able to see the disks using the net-install but not the boot disk. Something to be aware of.

Hey Jason;

thanks for the report, I will file a ticket on this. Out of curiosity, were you using 3.2 or the 3.3 RC disk (difference would be CentOS 5 vs CentOS 6)?

Thanks;

Original tester noted this was 3.2.2 and not the new 3.3RC. It may be the case that CentOS 6 has the new driver, but it should be verified.

Another user:

"We found, even with the slightly older R610s we ordered a few months ago, that 3.3RC-1 installed like a charm. We couldn't install 3.2.2 at all, could not use the 3.2.1 netinstall, but could use the 3.2.1 stand-alone. We opted to install the RC candidate on one of the machines for now, since we won't have our 10gb connection for a while.
