Does Sites store cookies for viewers?

Request Summary:
EU law requires that all website owners must inform users about any cookies 
that are placed on their system by the website.

Clarification is needed on what - if any - cookies are placed by Sites.
It is assumed that Adsense and Analytics place cookies (does anyone know where 
this is documented?) but what about Sites ?

Noticed the following cookies being placed immediately on loading a Google 
Sites page.  Retries on moving to a new page.  Sites' designers currently have 
no control over these cookies.  As a minimum they need to be able to inform 
their visitors what types of cookies these are and what they are for

I concur. I am a Google Apps for business user. My company website is built 
using Google Sites and I am running Google Analytics. On that basis, I expect 
Cookies are probably dropped onto a visitor computer and I (and many other Uk 
Google Site owners) am therefore contravening the law laid down by the ICO. 
Could you acknowledge this issue,

We have the same problem. I am searching for a pop up like solution....no 
success so far....Please assist.
