Reason/comments: Centennial Beach in Hudson MA is exactly the type of portal candidate Niantic is looking for. It is a hidden gem. A local beach that the locals built and maintain. There are larger ones on the lake in more popular areas with more parking. Those are where most people go. This one is tucked out of the way on a side street. It has a good sized parking lot to accommodate quite a few vehicles. It has trees for shade, a nice sandy beach for laying out on and it’s not too crowded. It has bathrooms/changing rooms and walkways. Everything you could want for a relaxing summer day of fun. It is a clearly man-made place. Just look at Google Maps and Satellite view. It’s clearly labelled and you can see all the features I just described.
A quick google search of “Centennial Beach Hudson MA” returns link after link of community news, travel advice, places to go, etc, all referencing this beach.
The reason I believe it was rejected is because the picture I took shows the beach rather than the sign. The problem is it is closed for the season. They took down the sign. I looked all over before doing the portal submission. The only signs I could find in the entire area were for the handicap spots. There are two tall metal poles on either side of the sidewalk near the changing rooms that do nothing. I am assuming they normally support a large sign stating the rules and such, but taking a picture of empty metal poles would not make for a very good candidate either. I promise I will go back when it is open next Summer and submit a better picture once the sign is back.
