Hi,
At the moment MoNav uses QtMobility to access GPS hardware. Sadly QtMobility
does not provide this functionality under desktop Linux / Windows system, but
only for mobile devices.

Hi,
I found an implementation that helps here. The origin is the cacheme
application. There a GpsdPositionInfoSource was created that implements a
position service using Gpsd.
Maybe you can add this to the next release.

Great work Thomas, I'd be thrilled if a solution can be found and maintained
that allow Monav to support GPSD!

Nice find. Testing it will take a bit of time, though, since I do not own GPSD
capable hardware.

I have tested it shortly. The values are shown in monav's GPS report and the
location is marked in the map. What else needs to be tested?

Hi Thomas, are you compiling for a specific linux distro and if so which?

I've built it on my netbook, which runs Ubuntu 11.04 (i386).

Sorry for the ( very long ) delay, new work and nice summer weather took their
toll :-D
I integrated the patch in r2f749f8ea900
