Vertical-axis turbine versus cross-flow turbine? #5

Most people just call the turbines vertical-axis wind turbines. We may have less impact if prospective readers do not know that they are the same--or that a CFT does not need to be vertical!

How about: vertical axis (cross-flow) turbine?

petebachant commented 9 years ago

That was how I came up with the title (minus the parentheses). The "vertical-axis" qualifier does further describe the cross-flow turbine, since one could have a horizontal-axis cross-flow turbine.

Without parenthesis it should be “vertical axis cross-flow turbine”, since vertical is the sub-class to cross-flow.
