Back and forward navigation does not work properly in gerrit

Affected Version: 2.1.7-rc1
Environment:
Chromium OS - http://gerrit.chromium.org/gerrit/#mine

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.  Read a CL that has a link to another CL
2.  Click the second CL
3.  Click to see a side-by-side diff in the new CL
4.  Right-click empty space and select 'back'

At this point it brings you back to the original CL you were looking at 
skipping the one you were on (so I can't go back => click on next diff).

Also at points when I go back, I can't go forward again - the forward icon is 
grayed out in the browser.
