From your description above it sound like you might be looking for a layout manager not tab-resize. layout-manager or multi-layout-manager might be a good place to start.
Thank you very much for your comment. I'm downloading one as we speak.
I am hoping these are considered as it would make tab resize a much more useful productivity tool. I'm a teacher who needs access to a lot of digital information, all at once, in real time, free of distractions, during lessons. I can't find anything like what I'm describing.
In a nutshell: it would be great if you could save tabs as a preset.
For example, I would like Chrome to always open a 'set' of 2 windows (in a certain size configuration) and with different websites for each window: Calendar and Google Drive tabs on the left (large) window Trello on the right (small) window
This way I can view and take notes on my students, whilst also viewing the lesson plan, without switching tabs and without having to manually resize the window and open these 3 tabs.
It could be very useful for people working in a wide range of other tasks like web development, branding, social media etc.
The idea could be taken much further by saving different 'sets' of tabs, for different activities.
It would be even better if the small window could have the address bar hidden (for maximum use of the screen space) and have separate bookmarks from the main window (so that I can switch Trello for Simplenote when working on other tasks).
