View and Edit a Confluence Cloud page with Brave or Chrome and activated Glossary-for-Confluence-Cloud-PlugIn results in different Error Message Codes, see attached Screenshots.

Glossary-for-Confluence-Cloud-PlugIn for Chrome 0.1.1 Glossary-for-Confluence-Cloud-PlugIn for Brave 0.1.1 Glossary Add-on on Confluence Cloud 1.1.12-AC

Disabling Glossary-for-Confluence-Cloud-PlugIn in Brave or Chrome doesn't lead to any errors.

Hi Marco,

Thanks for reaching out and for the detailed error description.

I did some tests in our Confluence test instance and, unfortunately, I am unable to reproduce the problem. I have the glossary browser plugin installed and enabled in Chrome and editing pages, viewing existing pages or creating new pages works without any errors. So I have a couple more questions:

  1. When exactly do you see the error message? As soon as you click to view a page and similarly when you click on edit? What happens when you reload the page?
  2. Do you see the errors for any page that you view?
  3. Can you try creating a simple new page, containing only a term from the glossary. Does it also show errors?
  4. What kind of content do you have on the pages where you see the errors?

I am sure we will be able to figure it out soon.

Can you please also email me your SEN to support@bordant.com?

Best wishes, Peter

Hi Peter,

Thank you for your feedback. I am the guy who reported the issue to Marco Wunderlin because he is one of our confluence administrators and he asked me to directly get in touch with you.

  1. When exactly do you see the error message? As soon as you click to view a page and similarly when you click on edit? What happens when you reload the page? I see the error message when I access a page (view). Sometimes I also see the message when I am in edit ode. When I reload the page, the error message usually disappears but when I reopen the page (view oder edit) later it can happen that the error message reappears and I would have to reload the page.

  2. Do you see the errors for any page that you view? No, not for any page. It is only on pages that contain words where we have records in the glossary. Additionally, it seems to me that the error message appears as soon as a word (from the glossary) is contained in another macro (e. g. page properties macro and excerpt macro). Screenshot of a page from today: [Image] After reloading the page no error message appears. And here are two more screenshots of the content parts of the very same page after reloading it (it conssists of a big table where I use the page properties macro – see the word ‘Story’ in the Testszenario…): [Image] The second screenshot contains also the word ‘Story’ where we have a record in the glossary:

  1. Can you try creating a simple new page, containing only a term from the glossary. Does it also show errors? I did the following tests:

    1. I created a test page that contains words from the glossary -> no error message
    2. I put the same words in an excerpt macro on a completely different page and included this excerpt in my page from a) -> no error message
    3. I copied the page properties macro from the second screenshot above “Testszenario…” and added it in my page from a) -> no error message
    4. I cleared my cache and history of my browser (Google Chrome), closed and reopened it. I accessed my test page from a) -> no error message
    5. I accessed the page from screenshot 1 above -> The error message appears. See screenshot of the final test page:

Conclusion: I have no idea what I would have to do to reproduce the error.

  1. What kind of content do you have on the pages where you see the errors? See above – I mostly work with the excerpt macro and the page properties report macro which are both standard macros from atlassian. I hope I could give you some useful information. I can also offer you to have a call via MS Teams, in order to do some more tests and you can see when the error message pops up.

Best regards, Timur Ük

Freundliche Grüsse

Marco Wunderlin

Hi Timur,

Thanks for all the details. The hint with the macros is very interesting. So I tried to reconstruct the content of your page and did some tests with macros in the page (containing glossary terms). Unfortunately I am still unable to reproduce the problem.

So, if your offer still stands, I believe having an MS Teams call would be the best way forward. Please send some possible time slots (and timezone) that would work for you during the next couple of days to support@bordant.com.

Best wishes, Peter

Hi Peter

I am sorry for the delay of my answer, but here I go with some time slots:

I think a time slot of about 1 hour should do it.

Please let me know which of the time slots fit you best.

Best regards,

Freundliche Grüsse

Hi Peter,

I'm sorry for the delay of my answer, but I was off duty for a few days. My calendar has also changed in the mean time. So, here are some new dates that I can offer you:

Hi Timur,

Can we do Tuesday 8.11. between 1.00 and 2.00? Also, shall we switch to e-mail communication for further communication regarding the call? You can contact me via support@bordant.com.

Best wishes, Peter
