FEATURE REQUEST - Menu Bar notification. #82

Adding a simple number notification to the menu bar would make this 100% complete, I understand the use of the dashboard but it is to easy to forget you have messages, out of sight out of mind.

Totally agree with u on this, some icon in the status bar or the same effect when u press the home button in a middle of a call, +1 like

I don't know if it has to include a number per se, but I agree that an indication that there are pending items in the dashboard would be useful.

I notice this item hasn't had much activity in a while. But now that MN auto-cleans events for apps when the app itself is opened -- a good thing -- I have noticed that I am having to actually give conscious thought to pulling up the task switcher dashboard. Why? Well, the honest truth is that if I'm not staring at the phone when a pop-up notification passes through, there's no real indication that there is anything pending that might deserve my attention.

Funnily enough, this is the /same/ reason I have employed the use of Notifier+ -- which I have mentioned in various other threads, but seems pretty relevant to this particular issue/request. So just as we have an indicator on the lock screen, why not something /always/ visible (regardless of springboard or application)? I don't know if Notifier+ is the path to the solution, but I reference it because it does this in a way consistent to what I envision here.... a simple icon displayed in the menubar showing that there are indeed pending notifications in MN.
