Or maybe it would be more fun to try something in a language other than Ruby?

Yeah, I'm definitely feeling like it would be more fun to do this in Go, Clojure, or Haskell. ...Probably Go or Haskell because I'd like more experience with static typing. ...And I guess Haskell because I have more access to Haskell mentors and it seems more job relevant right now.
