Currently the sample report has a "Unique" column, terse due to the column width, but sadly ambiguous.
This field is used in https://github.com/peterjc/thapbi-pict/blob/master/scripts/plot_reduction.py where I assumed it was the ASV count, but in fact currently it is the number of different taxonomic classifications assigned for the sample (including species complexes). This value will be smaller, although close if using harsh thresholds and/or denoising with good reference DB coverage.
