python setup.py install doesn't work with python 2.4

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Install python 2.4
2. Unzip boto and go into the base directory.
3. python setup.py install

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

I expect to see that the product was successfully installed.

Instead I see these errors:

Clearly the code was written with python 2.5+ in mind. It uses the ternary 
operator which doesn't exist in python 2.4 

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
This is the 2.0GA release
