create separate source module for handling reading, recording interactive input, and positioning w/in source code

[ ] use a single position number to get both line and char number w/in source code
[ ] get substring of source code given a starting and ending position
[ ] allow "interactive mode" to grow source code as input is received
- [ ] erase erroneous source code once it's identified as such
