npm ERR! weird error 1 #52

Using Linuxmint I get:

npm ERR! weird error 1

How can I fix this?

See http://stackoverflow.com/a/21171188/307705. Works after sudo apt-get install nodejs-legacy.

Is that a problem that can be fixed in the devtools-terminal project, or is the blame all on the Linux distro?
