file2text broken? #23

Trying to convert pdf/jpeg to text, I'm getting:

{ "error": "Error when converting file to text" }

and for docx, just:

Internal Server Error

Same issue on datasciencetoolkit.org and my own local instance. I've tried several files to (hopefully) rule out an isolated issue with my data.
