In tandem rotation speed of a bubble and the stuck Pilgrim could be defined by targetting accuracy.

if the Pilgrim hits the bubble in axis with the centre : no rotation
rotation is faster when the angle between the axis (the normal at the bubble's surface) and the Pilgrim's direction if greater
