add benchmarks #10

Adds in the benchmarks. Only the "longer genome" plot contains the model fit for the timings.

@petrelharp @jeromekelleher I changed the fit function, as what Jerome had originally written down didn't seem quite right. Please take a look. I got a better fit for small sample sizes, but let's make sure it isn't nonsense.
