Tips

  1. KEEP TRACK OF WHAT YOU READ.
    There are all kinds of tools online that can help you organize your reading
  2. READ BEFORE GOING TO BED.
    I bite off a good chunk of a book every night, with as few exceptions as possible.
  3. READ WIDELY.
    This year I read at least two books in each of twenty-five (somewhat arbitrary, self-defined) categories.
  4. READ IN DIFFERENT MEDIA.
    I also read the occasional ebook just because sometimes my phone is the only thing handy.
  5. READ CHEAPLY.
    I try not to pay more than a couple of dollars for anything I buy.

Difficulty

In the post, I talk about the importance of varying the difficulty level of what you read.

I try to vary the level of books I’m reading, too. If I’ve just finished a fairly heavy, difficult read, I might try to read something light and fun next.

Using lighter books as palate cleansers helps you stay on track without getting burned out and wasting an evening on Netflix.
