JOSS Review: Contribution and Authorship #258

Closed draabe closed 2 months ago

Hi!

Regarding this checkbox of the JOSS Review: Contribution and authorship: Has the submitting author (@renatex333) made major contributions to the software? Does the full list of paper authors seem appropriate and complete?

I tried to match the paper authors with the repository contributors, but couldn't quite resolve the real and user names.

Could you provide me with a brief rundown of all the author contributions?

Thanks!

Hi,

Sure, I'd be happy to clarify the contributions of each author. Here is a brief rundown:

This should help resolve the contributions and verify the list of authors.

Thank you!

Thank you for clarification.

It is correct that @enricofd , @lfcarrete , @leonardodma are not authors of the submission?

renatex333 commented 3 months ago

Hi, @draabe!

Yes, that is correct. Although @enricofd, @lfcarrete, @leonardodma and @Manuel-castanares made significant contributions at the beginning of this project, they are no longer active contributors. Currently, the primary contributors driving the project forward are @JorasOliveira, @Pedro2712, @RicardoRibeiroRodrigues, @fbarth, and myself. This core team has worked extensively on the project, leading to our decision to submit it for publication. However, if you consider it appropriate, we are open to including our former colleagues as authors to acknowledge their early contributions.

Hi, @renatex333

thanks for the clarification. I'll leave the authorship decision to you. Just wanted to make sure the list of authors is appropriate and complete, and I'm convinced with your explanation you're able to make a fair decision.
