Support for WebMail Notifier firefox extension #36

WebMail Notifier and PassIFox do not play nice together. For example, if I add in my myuser@mydomain.com account with PassIFox disabled all is good. As soon as I enable PassIFox new entries in WebMail Notifier get made for myuser@hotmail.com, myuser@yahoo.com, myuser@gmail.com and so on all of which don't exist.

I believe this is probably related to the know issue of using multiple accounts on the one domain but it might also have some extra to it because it's an firefox extension.

I really miss using WebMail Notifier and would just like to know is it ever going to be possible to use it and PassIFox together.

Thanks

It looks like it should just work (did a quick review of WMN's code)--perhaps try restarting firefox to clear the passifox cache.

Multiple accounts on a single URL is not a problem if a realm is specified, which WMN is doing.

There does seem to be a problem with the expectation of being able to pull out the chrome:// url...

I have tried every which way I can but I keep getting phantom accounts. I am not sure if this is because when I first installed PassIFox I allowed it to keep the passwords for WebMail Notifier (I am not sure if it prompted me or not) so now it doesn't even ask me if I want to save the passwords and just puts entries into KeePass (it only puts entries for my real accounts not the phantom accounts). Really annoying, I would so love for these two to work together or at the least allow me the option to not have PassIFox store the passwords for it.

Well, passwords are prompted for saving only when they're entered on a webpage. WMN makes a direct request to the login manager to save passwords, and those do not get any prompts.

WMN and other extensions that work directly against the login manager weren't what I had in mind when developing passifox. I will have to consider how I will go about fixing this...

same issuse here. any updates? WebMail Notifier is such a nice addon. Maybe contact to WebMail Notifer developer? Or build a except list in passifox?

Same problem as above.

I only use the one WebMail Notifier account, whenever I configure the details and then check new mail, a whole bunch of other accounts are created.

Also, on initial install of Passifox my original configuration was deleted.

Also, it doesn't seem to work at all on the correctly configured mail details

I current use Gmail Watcher as an alternative option which works well with passifox.
