I confirm this issue. I have reseted the password multiple times before realizing it was a problem with PassIFox. It's all fine when the database is unlocked and Firefox tries to Sync, but after several tries, it disconnects.
Also I don't like very much how the passifox extension "integrates" with the KeePass database, adding it's own strings to the various records. Couldn't it be more discreet? KeeFox is a good example of this, but I think passifox has a huge potential
Also getting constantly signed out of Firefox Sync
+1 on both etting logged-out and passifox adding new entrys in the main directory of my database (I use Mac-Pass)
+1, it's very annoying!
+1, consistently on windows, occasionally on linux
+1 This is still an issue with Firefox 46.0.1.
+1, been having this issue since I installed. I don't always start them up in the same order and it's really annoying having to reconnect Sync ever time.
This is a really frustrating issue. Basically Passifox and Sync are not compatible. I'm trying to decide which is more important to me...
It's not just when you start Firefox you have to have MacPass (or KeePass) open. Every time the computer wakes from sleep (when MacPass automatically locks) Passifox disconnects me from Sync.
This is pretty much non-existent priority for me as I no longer use firefox and barely ever maintain the extension. If someone wants to step in by providing a PR which fixes this, I will review and merge, otherwise, it's the regular status quo.
Thanks for joining us after one year. No one is demanding here, we just saw a potential in this thing and did not trash the idea immediately. At least now we know and can move on.
@pfn, maybe you should add to notice to the README that you are no longer interested in maintaining the project as you don't use it, and see if anyone is interested in taking it over?
Unfortunately I am not volunteering, partly due to time constraints and partly due to limited familiarity with Firefox extension development, but I would be surprised if you could not find someone interested in maintaining the project as many people must use it.
Thanks for your work on it so far, anyway, it's been really useful to me despite the Sync issues. 👍
Hi all, @pfn: thanx a lot for the cool add-on. Do you have any idea of how long it would take an experienced firefox add-on developer to fix this issue? I'm asking, because I would be willing to spend some money to hire someone to fix it.
@all others: would you also be willing to contribute some money to get this fixed? If it is as annoying to you as some say, I can only assume that you'd be willing to join forces to get this done?! I'd contribute upto 30-50$. How much would you contribute?
@pfn Having no interest in maintaining this is understandable. Marking the issue here and on Firefox plugins repo would be a good idea though.
If a new maintainer with time and interest appeared then I'd seriously consider a donation, but paying to fix a single bug won't do. In a few versions Firefox will require new standards for plugins and it won't work at all then.
I confirm the problem on firefox 50, is very very annoying
Hi all, I just opened a Bug-Bounty (https://www.bountysource.com/issues/18927362-firefox-sync-keeps-logging-out).
Any one anoyed by this bug, please contribute some money to get this fixed.
Same Issue. Other posts which seem to be related:
Very annoying, too bad it won't get fixed. I like passifox better, but guess I'm going back to KeeFox.
+1 with 51.0.1
See my comment at https://github.com/pfn/passifox/issues/435#issuecomment-278680573 and a response from an Mozilla engineer working on Firefox Sync.
Every time I open Firefox without opening KeePass too it's diconnected from Sync account. But if I want to take a quick look to a website it's frustrating to enter the master password every time. So the best thing would be Sync password to be an exception and to be stored inside Firefox by default
