How to change Audio Buffer #56

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
Hi,

Im running squeezelite on my Raspberry Pi, which acts as a gateway to my
logitech media sever.
Im using a HDMI to Audio adapter in order to utilise the high quality audio
output

However, Im experiencing some sound problems, which to me sounds like a
buffering issue (music slows down occasionally). So I think I need to adjust
the buffer. BUT, I have no idea on how to do this.

Any help please

Thanks

Music slowing down doesn't necessarily sound like a buffer size issue. However
if you want to increase the alsa buffer use -a 80 on the squeezelite command
line. You can replace 80 with larger numbers to see what impact it has.

Hmmmm, Im very novice at all this so Im hoping the buffer will help.

Silly question I know, but how do I get on to the squeezelite command line if
Im access the Raspberry pi via Putty??

Sorry this is probably a complete noobo question

I think I have figured out how to get to the squeezebox command line (I think!!)
I navigated to the installation dictionary and where squeezelite is installed
as squeezelite-armv6hf

/usr/bin/squeezelite-armv6hf

but when I try to enter squeezelite-armv6hf -a 80

i get a notice saying "/usr/bin.squeezelite-arm6hf: Permission Denied"

Any help??

Sorry can't help - this will be due to however squeezelite is being started.
Suggest looking at how this is started or asking the packager or the startup
script.
