High pulseaudio CPU load even when idle #57

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. start PulseAudio (/usr/bin/pulseaudio --start --log-target=syslog 
--system=false --disallow-exit=1 --exit-idle-time=-1)
2.Start SqueezeLite ( squeezelite -o pulse )
3. LogitechMediaServer is on same host, but even if I stop it, it does not 
change.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I would expect that, when IDLE, pulseaudio does not consume cpu cycles.
Instead I see 20-30% utilization.
If I close squeezelite, pulseaudio cpu goes to 0%

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Using version 1.3 on Debian 7 on custom D-LINK DNS325
model name      : Feroceon 88FR131 rev 1 (v5l)
Hardware        : Marvell Kirkwood (Flattened Device Tree)
kernel 3.11.0+overlayfs+ armv5tel

Please provide any additional information below.
If I keep LMS open or I close it, it does not change.

Squeezelite streams silence when idle - this is a design feature.  It will 
reduce if you power off the player from lms.  

Please try using direct alsa access if you want to reduce cpu load.

That explains it - thanks!
BTW, I am not able to make alsa work with my "card" (it is a bluetooth speaker 
connected via a bt dongle - alsa does not recognize it, while pa does).

Quite off-topic here (is there a forum/mailing list available?), does 
squeezelite support uemusiclibrary yet?
